The tens of thousands of universes have merged. The disintegration of spiritual force led to the momentous collapse of the great Cultivation World, a mighty era that had endured through millions of years of history. In the wake of the large-scale invasion of the Wilderness, the Avalon of Five Elements has become the practitioners’ last stand.

After a thousand years, a lowly youth, who hailed from the Old Territory, toiled as a laborer for three years in the depths of the Wilderness. He then became an exception and obtained the opportunity to enter the Avalon Of Five Elements for further studies.

Bearing beast-like fighting capabilities and driven by the desire to take control of his life, the youth strived for greater strength and power. Little did he know that he would set off a majestic upheaval.

It bothers me that the elemental cultivation, which has a 10000-years-old foundation, is surpassed by the martial musings of a teenager, supposedly untalented. Sword embryo, such a cliche...

Just how on earth did people survive for so long with such an inefficient method of cultivation?

Well, as far as xianxia goes, this one is awesome.

Like World Of Cultivation, Fang Xiang brings excellent character development and you can get attached to a whole cast of side characters (Sand golem is a good waif to MC). The world is interesting, and the story seems to be pretty good...

If you can handle the large amounts of ramble in the book.

A big flaw for me is how the author writes a little too much and delays the story with having to fill their quota of 2000 words per chapter to make more money. It gets a little boring... more>> because of this, in my opinion.

Nonetheless, if you can endure something that's a little slower paced compared to World of Cultivation, you'll probably like it. <<less

The story of a enthusiastic hardcore man that wishes to take control of his own life, others might call him money grubbing, I however just call him poor. The MC cultivates with a lack of talent, but has rich combat experience and a unique sword embryo that he cultivated, which allowed him to survive in the harsh environments that gave him combat experience. The only true complaints I have with this novel is that the author REPEATEDLY repeats the same thing over and over again and that the author spends... more>> a lot of time explaining through words not actions, as in he will literally explain to use with 9 paragraphs worth of text how embroidery is useful for combat, however at that time the MC isn't even nearby and it is being explained in the pov of a different character, meaning we learn this but the MC doesn't, yet he knows it already when he is back on the pov. It makes no sense and really detracts from the story. <<less

A short summary so far: In a relatively peaceful world, a young, battle-hardened protagonist enters an easygoing academy for cultivators. This leisurely life continues for only a short while until a catastrophe befalls the world and the academy becomes a place where everyone must struggle to survive.

This novel is very well written. It starts off like World of Cultivation but now is closer to Terror Infinity with well written thriller/horror aspects.

Amazing novel. The author make an amazing world building. The plot is good and so far not forced. The MC is very likable in my opinion and so far the side character also good. This really amazing and unique story!

Though I admit the first few chapters is kinda boring but if you continue to read this novel, I'm sure your opinion would change.

... Meant to click 3-and-a-half stars

Anyways, this novel is overrated, as per usual.

74% 5 Star reviews? HUH?

... more>> The characters are generic. The pace is incredibly slow. There is loads of exposition dumping. There is training montages, but "different".

It's your typical Wuxia. The protagonist is a hard-working lower class citizen that gets an opportunity at martial school late in age, but has no talent. Then, he gets some fortunate encounter that allows him to springboard up the levels, ruthless and cunning, etc etc etc.

It's slightly better written that some Wuxia, but I'm not going to go out of my way to say it's phenomenal or trendsetting.

Primary difference is that there is an impending crisis for the world, so it's less "MC protects village from bad clan" wuxia to "MC protects world from bad clan".

It's readable. If that's what you're looking for, that's probably a compliment. If you're looking for excellence, look elsewhere. <<less

A real gem, the beginning is very slow, but then we have an incredibly interesting and enthralling story. The author is a genius to create that feeling of despair that slowly reaches the neck of all

its a story where cultivation age end and replace into avalon age. A very polished story so far.

Chapter 1-100

Spoiler

is the introduction peaceful life of how he made comrades and their comedic life.

[collapse]

Chapter 100-200

Spoiler

is the start of apocalypse, where some die, and true story begin which turn out to be a lead for the end of avalon age and goes back cultivation age. The story casting is very good, we have ai Hui, the son of A Gui and xia mo ge as naruto (But strong, smart, and money grubber), Bangwan as sasuke. Fatty as fatty in any other cultivation novel, Lou Lan as medic and scanner. The romance for noodle shop girl is good too, she has character and seems alive.

[collapse]

I really recommend this to anyone who like cultivation and zombie apocalypse.

Chapter 200-300

Spoiler

the peak of battle and how it end unexpectaly good!

Chapter -380

Spoiler

The story is at the post apocalypse now is more about recovering and political struggle. Less fighting and more in depth about clans. Its very different from the first apocalypse stage, where its more about teamwork and survival. However its still very interesting to read. I can see how this arch will become the foundation and very reason for MC to build his own clan in the future.

I can see there is something that World of Cultivation have can be related in this continuation series. Some thing from cultivation era still exist in here. Especially that slave flower technique which originate from black guard slave origin. This is the first time I read a continuation series that didnt require people to read the first series to understand but still can give a comprehension to whom had read too.

the most thing I like in WoC, there is spirit advisor pu yao, that make you laugh sometime with its superior personality. Which also makes MC smarter in politic rather than our current MC in Avalon with a yes man puppet lou lan. (The most everyone love in story, but the most lifeless of all). But, we have bangwan here in Avalon, the most competitive friendship I met so far. <<less

After 100 chapters I find the story good, but I find the development to be very slow and uninteresting.

20-30 chapters in, I found the series great. But after that there is 80 chapters of build-up (training, encounters), but there is no suspense at all, including the "training" battles MC had

I expect this to change, I won't doubt Fang Xian (author of WoC), but some people might be turned away early by this.

No idea how it's only sitting at a 4.3 rn, IMO should be at least a 4.5.

Anyhow, this novel is probably the best Xuanhuan that I've read. Also, the author wrote World of Cultivation, and if you haven't read it I would highly recommend it (it gets worse later on but it's really good at the start). The characters are all very well-developed and the world building is, as usual, amazing.

Seeing the abnormal peak of 1-star ratings, I would assume that they are the Qidian haters. I use to hate... more>> Qidian as well, but hey, when they are releasing 20 chapters a week I can't really complain... Anyways, would recommend this novel to everyone since it has a great story, fleshed-out characters, and most importantly: 20 chapters a week!!! <<less

This I enjoyed, the MC is dense but funny his passe shape him witch I found intriguing. The comedy and action makes me grin. Sadley it update are slow. For new readers read 10 chapters to get feel for the MC, I found it to be a nice little gem.

This is a pretty humorous story that I have been finding quite funny. The world building is great, and the MC is very likeable.

MC is a badass normal survivor who is allowed into the magic academy by being in the 0.1% of luggage carriers who survive 3 years of working for mages on hunting expeditions (most get in for being noble born or very high natural talent without having to go through the above).

He gets PTSD flashbacks to the fighting and has to stop himself from accidentally killing his fellow... more>> students when that happens. Somehow the author actually makes the above humorous instead of awful.

Aside from that, it is in general a very funny story. And very pleasant. Although the way it ties in with world of cultivation makes me a bit sad <<less
